Wow. What we've got here is simply stunning, with flowing bodylines and paint that has to be seen in person to be believed. This 1979 Pontiac Firebird Formula is the real deal, complete with beautiful decals and a killer interior. The bodylines of the Firebird were completely redesigned for 1979, featuring a new aerodynamic front end, redone rear end spoiler, and a revised connected taillight assembly design. The grille was repositioned to the bottom of the front bumper to allow more cold air to travel directly to the radiator and engine bay. The Formula received some revisions, where the two-tone "W50" colored stripe decal now became the standard look for the Formula and added the "Formula" lettering along the bottom of the doors and rear deck spoiler. Additionally, the dashboard's look now wore the same machined swirl aluminum pattern as the Trans Am! Because the Pontiac 400 C.I. V8's production had ended for 1979, the Formula's base engine offering became the 301 C.I. V8, which is what this car is equipped with. Breathing through a 4-barrel carburetor, the 301 V8 makes more than enough power to get this Firebird down the road with some excitement to spare. Torque from that 301 gets to the pavement through the use of a 3-speed "TH-350" transmission, allowing for seamless power delivery. The bright red paint is in such a stunningly beautiful shape that it is hard to describe, simply popping off the metalwork as a truly remarkable sight to behold. The interior is positively gorgeous, with black cloth "hobnail" bucket seats and black vinyl trim in addition to a factory-installed working clock! Options fitted to this sweet Formula include power steering, power front disc brakes, a remote driver's mirror, air conditioning, factory gauges, a working clock, an updated Sony AM/FM/CD stereo system (that sounds great!), new Sony speakers, seatbelts, and a mean-looking single-into-dual exhaust system. The car rides on a classic setup, with B.F. Goodrich RWL tires on top of gleaming chrome American Racing wheels. This '79 Firebird Formula runs and drives twice as good as it looks, which is really saying something. Right now, it sits in our showroom, looking for a new driver. If you're in the market for a Firebird that doesn't just look stunning but ensures that the driver is in for one hell of a good time, then we think we've got what you're looking for right here.
