This 1966 Chevrolet Caprice is an absolute show-stopper. The Caprice nameplate, to Chevrolet, represented the epitome of luxury that the brand had to offer. As Chevrolet's top-of-the-line full size model, the Caprice received all sorts of luxurious items not found in other Chevrolets. Differentiations included luxuriously upholstered interiors with simulated wood dashboard and door-panel trim, thicker carpeting, sound insulation, courtesy lighting, and more upscale exterior trims. For 1966, the very first year the Caprice was a model and not just an option package, the Caprice received a revised grille and luxurious cloth or vinyl bench seats with a folding center armrest in the rear seat. Optional on both was a "Strato-Bench" seat which combined bucket-style seat backs and a center armrest with a bench cushion for six-passenger seating. This mean Caprice is fitted with the larger engine option, a numbers-matching 396 C.I. V8 with a 4-barrel carburetor good for 325hp. That power gets to the rear wheels through a smooth-shifting 3-speed automatic transmission. The interior on this Caprice is fantastic outfitted in black vinyl, matching the exterior color of the car for an intimidating look. This menacing Caprice is fitted with factory gauges, air conditioning, power windows, power steering, power brakes, a tilt steering wheel, an updated vintage-styled AM/FM radio, vent windows, and a dual exhaust system. It rides on a set of great-looking original style Chevrolet rally wheels on top of BF Goodrich RWL tires. This Caprice runs and drives just as good as it looks, and that 396 allows the car to really move its own weight. If you're looking for a wonderfully-driving full-size car that makes a load of power, then this may just be the one you're looking for.
